Stepping up to the Premium version of the Puma Gen-E loses you a few miles in range, but brings 18-inch alloy wheels, a powered tailgate, keyless entry and start, a premium Bang and Olufsen sound system and posh Matrix LED headlights.

Boot space: The Gen-E offers a large and versatile boot with up to 523 litres of space, which includes an underfloor storage area called the "MegaBox" (or "GigaBox" in the electric model). There is also a 43-litre "frunk" for storing charging cables.

Driving experience: The electric powertrain delivers brisk acceleration and responsive handling, retaining the engaging feel of the petrol Puma. The ride is well-judged but can be a little firmer on the larger wheels of the Premium trim.'
